BritBears is pleased to announce that our 2018 membership is now closed and 2019 membership is now OPEN.
Membership to the UK’s premier bear and LGBT social community has never been easier.
Why become a member?
Throughout the year the BritBears team set up a large number of events in London and have plans to take the club to events outside of the capital during 2019. From our monthly Sunday Socials and our monthly Quiz Nights at the famous Duke of Wellington, to picnics in the park, theatre and cinema outings and parties at some of the UK’s best LGBT spaces, the BritBears team are always busy setting up activities to get us out and meeting others in friendly spaces.
SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES ENCOURAGING INCLUSION, ACCEPTANCE AND SUPPORT:
BritBears believes in bringing people together. We want to encourage members to come along and interact with other members whenever they can at non-attitude, friendly activities; to open friendship ‘circles’ and welcome others in. We want to demolish the ‘clique’ attitude still present in pockets within the community and we work hard to promote acceptance, inclusion and diversity.
DISCOUNTS AT YOUR FAVOURITE BUSINESSES AND BRANDS:
Members benefit from discounts and offers by many of our amazing partners who have teamed up with BritBears because they share the same ideology of a friendly, inclusive and welcoming LGBT community. We work with the best teams, venues, brands and businesses who kindly offer BritBears members discounts or help BritBears through offering their spaces for use for our events.
Some of our current partners include:
The BritBears team have MAJOR plans for 2019 with plans to branch out into other major cities with partnerships and hold events outside of the capital but you don’t need to live in London to be a BritBear because many of the discounts and offers that form part of the membership extend to online purchases and stores located in cities outside London.
The BritBears organisation which is 100% non-profit helps charities that support those in the LGBT community living with HIV and mental illness. 2019 will see BritBears continue to work with Terrence Higgins Trust for the support of those living with HIV and MindOut in Brighton, a smaller charity that helps LGBT people living with mental illness and the majority of the money collected in BritBears membership fees go toward these charities and the amazing work they do in the community.

WHERE DO YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES GO?
All proceeds from our memberships, events and fundraising are invested back into the the club to cover minimal costs such as website, marketing material and events and the remaining is donated to the charities that we support. As our focus is contributions to charity, BritBears always seek opportunities with businesses to assist on a voluntary basis to keep costs in running the club as low as possible. BritBears Directors and Committee members are volunteers and donate their time and the work they do within the club.
